Oh Happy Day
As the Edwin Hawkin Singers would put it - my jukebox is back working again thanks to the painstaking service and repairs carried out by Ben, truly a jukebox specialist, who travels throughout the South of England to bring jukeboxes back to life. Mine is a Rockola Tempo 2 and is the same type that used to feature in the BBC 1960s programme, Juke Box Jury, hosted by David Jacobs, when the four celebrity jurors were played the latest releases and had to say whether they would be Hit or a Miss. I remember when The Beatles were the jury. David Jacobs would sound a bell for a Hit and a hooter for a Miss. Saturday evening entertainment of a different era! It was playing Aretha Franklin's 'I say a little prayer' when I took this picture.
