Eid al-Adha

Today is Eid al-Adha, arguably the most important date in the Islamic calendar. It’s the second and bigger of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam, the other being Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. Eid al-Adha honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah’s command. Tough gig.
