Botanic Garden
Local bus-trip up to the "University of Bristol Botanic Garden" today (see signage extra!) - the gardens are home to some 4,500 species of plants, which are displayed in collections relating to evolution, Mediterranean, local flora, rare natives and useful plants ...
... since 2005, the gardens have been based in the 'Stoke Bishop' area of Bristol, at "The Holmes"; the main house is pictured here, with 'R' & 'M' admiring its borders ;-)
This relatively new garden, which was designed by 'Land Use Consultants' (advised by Peter Crane), was the first University Botanic Garden to be built in the UK in the 21st century!
And the (now) current garden-buildings were apparently used by United States Army staff, during the preparations for the Normandy landings of World War II.
A wonderful site - well worth a visit :-)
