WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Reach for the Sky!

This is the bottom half of the apple tree that Frank had to cut down in the storms. He was going to heave it all out but never got round to it. It obviously wants to live so I said to leave it be!

The home visit went very well, all we needed to do was put a simple slide lock on the inside of their bedroom door and get another Carbon Monoxide monitor. The lady Helen told me all the other things that need to be sorted out once they arrive like NI number, registering with Job Centre, opening bank accounts, GP and Dentist (they’ll be lucky to find a dentist!)

Tonya and Yurii have booked their flights and arrive in Leeds Airport next Tuesday at 9am! We’ll need to be up at the crack o’ dawn! We feel both apprehensive and excited.
After all the sorting and cleaning this last few days it was lovely to get out in the garden and potter about and it’s been warm, dry and sunny. :-D
The roses are all but done, I hope we get some more later. I dug up some salad potatoes and found a few red gooseberries, I wasn’t expecting many as it’s the first year since it was moved. I had some with custard, Frank is not keen on tarty fruit.

The Apple Tree Lives!

In the winter storms,
the apple tree threatened to blow over
and had to be cut down,
the paving was lifting and the fence leaning.
It was only sawn in half,
I was sad to see its crowning glory crash to the ground.
The trunk was left then,
with a view to removing it completely ‘one day soon’.
Spring passed and it was left,
Summer is halfway through and will soon meet Autumn,
branches have sprouted
from the top and sides reaching up to the sky,
the will to live is strong.
No matter if you’re an apple tree, plant or human,
an animal, fish or creepy crawly
every one of us just wants to live!

Goodnight Blippers. ;-)x
