In Preparation

Spent the first part of the day on shift at the NEC, welcoming the netball teams to the arena so that they could practice on the match court. The code of conduct prevents me from taking photos of the athletes and there are limited opportunities to capture engaging images elsewhere.

After the shift I went home via the city centre to get a couple of Commonwealth t-shirts for us. The city was buzzing and Victoria Square was preparing for the arrival of the Queen’s Baton.  The is was the scene at about 4:30 pm, 2 hours before the main celebrations.
