Holly Blue

A warmer day today. I spent some time in the garden, taking pics of the bees and a visiting Comma and a Holly Blue butterfly. Both allowed me to get quite close.

It’s flying ant day in our area. I was alerted to this in the late afternoon when I heard gulls calling, looked up and to my surprise saw a big flock of at least 200 birds wheeling around trying to snatch the ants from the air. Gulls simply adore the taste of a juicy flying ant.
