....in Times Past - yesterday, I mentioned the Horse (Drawn) Trams - but the Trams of today in Australia and not yesteryear...the only horse-drawn Trams in Australia at that time, and maybe still..
... And the Trams our daughter April-Louise used to drive when just 16-17 years old - (after checking the photo albums) - here are a few more photos of the "Horse Tram" - with our daughter in charge, and drawn by one of the Clydesdales..
She was so competent and wasn't brought up with horses, I was, but she managed to join the ranks of the other young people who also worked (and probably still do) on the Trams..when in the early days of - 1875, passenger Trams commenced and were abandoned in 1959 due to high costs of relaying the track, but in 1986 - the re-created Trams came to life again...
As I've also mentioned - our daughter used to come home from her 'other' job on Saturday mornings - which was in fashion - and change into her riding gear, and go down to the Horse Stables, not far away, if another horse was needed, bridle it up, and ride the big horse back through the heavy traffic - sometimes with a foal in tow, then down along the beach to the Causeway which also was featured in yesterday's blip...
During the School holidays, this generally happened first thing in the mornings..summer and winter - when it was always windy and cold..
Here also, is a little note she'd left for Mum, as I mustn't have been there when she'd popped in home..she often did that, and I kept her little notes of 20 or so years ago now - precious little notes from - Times Past...
