"Times Past.."

...Old photographs from the past - but this one is a little different - it must be a souvenir plate from long ago of a town, now called a City, we once lived in for 30 years. Another little treasure from the past, bought from an opportunity shop, it must have belonged to someone else who lived there many years ago..

...Years gone by, it was a special place for city folk to travel to - my Mother and Father used to travel there on Dad's motorbike, but now, it has changed so much, but ofcourse that is progress too...

...We have many stories we can relate of this City, but when this photograph was taken last century, the Causeway you can see here has a Works Jetty attached to it - for small ships in those days to unload and load cargo.

There were apparently, Sea-water Baths right near the Causeway and the Works Jetty, and this was a great attraction for young and old..

...The Causeway has changed a little now, the Works Jetty is not there, but there along the Causeway - which goes right to a small Island called Granite Island, runs a Horse Tram which is more than popular these days.

...For a year, at the end of her High School years, our daughter used to drive the Horse Tram which was pulled by a draft horse, and sometimes, toward the end of the day - the old horse would take off like a rocket on it's way back to the mainland, with passengers, sitting on the top of the tram and inside the carriage, who thought that was fantastic, but in the meantime - our daughter - the only person in charge - would be competently trying to slow the old horse down...everyone arriving quite safely - and children who wanted to "go again"...

Oh yes, we can tell some funny stories too, about the place where we used to live...
