Northern Threads
Karen and I went into Portland to see the Maine Historical Exhibit, Northern Threads, Part One. It was an exhibit of clothing from 1780-1889. Very interesting. Part Two will start in August and cover the next 100 years of fashion in Maine. The exhibit also included a room of fashion illustrations from the early 20th century sent from Paris to highlight the latest trends in couture complete with fabric samples. This one, created in 1936, reminded me of the paper doll my mother had drawn in 1938. More severe thunderstorms roll in this afternoon and evening as our weather heats up again...sigh.
