The Goose Tower
I left work early today and went to Vordingborg. I stopped by the harbour and walk through the old castle grounds to the Goose Tower.
The Goose Tower is the best preserved medieval tower in Scandinavia, built by Valdemar Atterdag in 1362 as part of the castle.
Vordingborg was the favorite castle of Valdemar Atterdag and during his reign this was his royal residence, the domicile of the kingdom, and it held the documents of the kingdom too.
The Goose Tower was and is the landmark of the city with the total height of 36 metres and a circumference of 33 metres. The tower top is embellished with a golden goose which Valdemar Atterdag put there.
After our walk, we went to visit Aiko, the Miniature American Shepherd, who is going to Japan, when she is done with all her vaccinations and health certificates. I thought it would be good for her to meet the pugs, who look and sound weird. It is important for her to learn that dogs come in all sizes and shapes. It went really well. You can see pictures in the extra.
See you tomorrow
