Flower Ensemble ...

... in a neighbor's yard on Union Street, on yet another sunny summer afternoon walk--still pleasantly warm, with very low humidity.

I've been dipping into a biography of the artist Paul Klee--my favorite of all--which I acquired in Zurich on one of my earliest trips to Europe, in the 1960s. It's in German, which I read easily (having majored in it).  That's a big help in following Klee, since he's a German Swiss*, and thus titled his works in German--often in whimsical/poetic fashion. It's a delight to appreciate both his art and his language looking through the images.

*Although from a Swiss family he was born in Germany and lived there most of his life. Towards the end he applied for Swiss citizenship but, sadly, never acquired it before his death in 1940.
