Avenue Verte, Day Eight: Maisons-Laffitte – Notre-Dame

Croissants and coffee outside a boulangerie in Maisons-Laffitte and then on to Paris at last! The cyclepath ran largely alongside the Seine and most of it was very pleasant, running through quite leafy suburbs like Croissy, though it became slightly edgier and more grafittied as it neared Paris proper. The section along the Saint-Denis canal after La Villette was pretty cool – when we’d finally found our way through the centre to take our victory photos outside Notre-Dame (and eaten our victory ice-creams outside Berthillon) and got back in one piece to our hotel at Crimee, we decided to head back there in the evening for burgers and drinks by the waterside…
