Llandeilo

Today's the day ..................... to go back to the roots

A lovely warm summer day today which we have spent in the local area where Will grew up.  This is Llandeilo, his nearest biggest town, where he went to secondary school.  It now attracts lots of visitors who come to shop and wander the streets lined with brightly-coloured houses and other buildings.

The one above is the old 'Shire Hall' which was built in 1802 as a courtroom, a corn exchange and a police station.  The present frontage with its columns was created in 1901.  It was still a courtroom back in the late 60s when Will was summoned to appear, having been caught speeding by a police radar trap.  When asked why he had been driving at 34 m.p.h in a 30 m.p.h. area, he made the plea that it was his first offence.  He was duly fined £3 and had 3 points put on his licence - a salutory lesson for him!

Lots of memories for him in the streets of the town ...................
