The Old Mill

A different sort of day today with hill mist this morning. This is Wembury near Plymouth. There was once a mill here, powered by a stream that runs down through the valley. The mill wheel was attached to the side of the building on the left and was powered by the water in a leat, fed by the stream. Although there are now few mills left they were once common in Devon and an integral part of local communities.
