Calathea

This was supposed to be a quick blip of a house plant (calathea). I then spent some time trying to compose an image of what is now a fairly large and unruly plant. When I looked at the images on the big screen the leaves looked a bit dowdy and were covered in specs of dust. In order to try again I took it outside and a shower of rain cleaned the leaves, so I was ready to start again. The light now though was brighter, and the wet leaves reflected the light, creating strong highlights! In my final attempt I found an indoor space where the light was a lot softer. It turned out to be a long journey to the final result.
