Butterfly Lunch

We had lunch in the café at Cockenzie House (now called Café Filly), sitting outside in the warm breeze. I enjoyed broccoli and stilton soup with a sourdough bread, Mr Flum a brie and cranberry panini, all very delicious.

We then descended to the garden, where bumblebees were feasting on globe thistle (Echinops) but were too busy to stop for a photoshoot, then a wander to admire the allotment area. Several white butterflies were attracted to the produce, but most of their preferred food plants were safely netted against their attentions. However, a solitary peacock obliged by feeding calmly on a coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), which gave me a blip (main photo) and entry for Tiny Tuesday. Thanks to dbifulco for hosting this month.

An obligatory potter around the beach followed, ended by watching a fishing boat come in from the east, turn towards Port Seton Harbour (extra), then turn back west, against the tidal flow and white horses, all set against an oil tanker far out in the Firth. 

These were taken on a Lumix TZ30, newly-acquired after a somewhat prolonged negotiation and just collected from the cleaners. It's such a relief to have the increased zoom and the touch-screen facility the trusty TZ10 lacks. I regret damaging my previous TZ30, so, memo to self: Do Not Drop This One.
