Busy morning as I blitzed the kitchen. Before setting off on holiday I always seem to go into overdrive. At least then all I need to focus on is the washing on our return.

Youngest son Tom and girlfriend Beth are arriving tonight. Tom’s friend Sam gets married tomorrow so they plan to make a weekend of it.

Managed to escape Pickering - avoiding the grid lock at the roundabout - for a walk in Dalby. The wildlife meadow was full of movement with butterflies and bees making the most of the conditions.

Delighted to see a number of Painted Lady butterflies along with whites, Peacocks and the odd Fritillary. Surprised it is so quiet we met only one couple as we walked back to the car.
