Snapshots of my world

Salt and Pepper Pots!

I've long looked up at the hills above Sutton in Craven and Cowling spotting the two towers standing proud. When booking this little trip away, I was determined to incorporate a walk to them into the week. Today was that day and I was not disappointed!

Lund's Tower is a stone folly built in 1887 and has a stone spiral staircase inside which you can climb to enjoy amazing views from this high vantage point. I was astounded!

Wainman's Pinnace was the first of the two to be built but there are many stories as to how it came to be built. However the most convincing is that it was built in 1815 to mark the battle of Waterloo by William Wainman. It has been repair several times due to the Yorkshire elements! It was more spectacular views and more spectacular winds. :-P

The two landmarks together are known as the salt and pepper pots!

A spectacular walk around the lovely country lanes too, just fab. :-D
