Family trees

We welcomed two groups of relatives for lunch today as our son returned some books and documents to them and we caught up on news.

One second cousin has also been documenting the family (this is the Duffus/Geddes side from Dundee) and has been writing out the tree on a scroll. We had not appreciated how long the scroll was. The photo does not show it fully extended!

Some of the documents consisted of a large bible and many photo albums, several from the 19th century. Our son has been trying to put names to faces and scanning the photos and recording what he has found.

One intriguing photo is in the extra of 2 men. We do not know who features in the photo. Or the circumstances. Dressed up for a play? As a prank? Or what? A mystery I suspect we will not solve.
