Disconcerted by my red shirt
Today's jog felt good. Rather more running than has been happening. Still walk the uphills, and there's quite a few of those in this area.
By the carpark at Tangiwai Reserve, I saw what seems to me to be a young White-faced heron. Although they were recorded in the 19th century, they were rare, and it was not until the 1960s that the self-introduced population grew rapidly and they are now abundant in harbours and inland water courses.
