Xmas present dinner no 4

Blipped a day late! 

We were over to see R, S & Olive last night for dinner, a super spread, and we were late home. 

The day was good. Much cooler so I was able to get some cutting back and weeding in comfort, before starting the admin jobs. Service and MOT booked for my car, they will collect and deliver  when the job is done, so handy. Car tax reminder arrived in the post, so on line to renew it, just took a couple of minutes. Then on to some sewing jobs.

As we travelled over to Nottinghamshire in the evening we could see thick black smoke tracking across the sky for at least 40 -50 miles. The benefit of the area being flat is that you can see for miles.

The short version of the story is that it was a massive fire at Ranskill. A construction site with around 1,000 tyres and scrap vehicles was on fire. It was reported about 10 am and was initially being managed with 14 appliances. The pic in extras was taken about 10 pm as we were driving home. 

I had an offer ….to learn how to fly a helicopter…..from a seat in the spare room !!!!
