London Sunflowers

These sunflowers were growing by the side of a busy London road.  We have been to London for a few days to see our son and his girlfriend.  They have bought a new house in Surrey and will be leaving the capital soon to move there.  We went to visit the house which is beside Godalming.  It's lovely.  Quite a bit to do to it but they have already made  a start and it's going to be a great home for them.  We also celebrated our son's birthday while we were there.  We went out for a meal and then had cake and champagne in their new garden.

I have attached a few extras:

Another sunflower

The entrance to The British Library.  We had a look inside the building.  Very impressive.  It houses over 170 million items including 25 million books.  It receives copies of all books published in the UK and Ireland along with many overseas titles published in the UK

Issac Newton Statue in the grounds of the British Library

A coloured tree in St Pancras station

Regents Canal beside Kings Cross

Coal Drops Yard - formerly a place where coal was received from South Yorkshire and then moved onto the narrow boats to be transported around to heat and light the buildings of London.  It is now shopping complex and public space

A Victorian water tower known at Waterpoint.  This was used to supply water to the steam locomotives at St Pancras station

We are home now.  Quite tired but we have had a wonderful few days. I hope that you are having a good weekend.
