Moving on

I’m probably not supposed to do all these photo collages but when you’re somewhere especially amazing, it’s hard to pick one photo.

It’s a temporary thing. ;-)

So we packed up and left Cunda early this afternoon and headed to Gure/Gur (pro. Gur-ay).

We’ve been here a few times before too. The picture is a scene I’ve seen a few times as it’s morphed in the last 10 years.

The first time we came to this town, (with Blipper Rosina & family) the hotel we’re staying in, owned by Ali’s family, was an empty plot. The second time, it was a concrete shell. The third time, it was complete, shiny and new and glitzy, but empty and closed. Today, we find it full, and buzzing with family chatter. Turkish family chatter. Both last week and this week, we’ve been the only English (possibly the only foreigners), in amongst Turkish holiday’ing families. We wonder whether we’re in the Turkish ‘Cornwall’ …
