Cream tea and wander.

Another 100 mile ride on a most beautiful sunny day, keeping a good steady pace on fairly flat roads (for Devon), I dipped under 5 hrs 20 after a bottle refill at the pretty estuary side village of Instow. The whole population were waiting for some water to arrive for the annual regatta. In unison with Appledore (situated on the opposite side of the river Torridge) the two riverside villages enjoy a weekend of mostly wet fun and games.
On return home cousin B required some bike maintenance to prevent the chain flying off the top gear during his recent health lifestyle changes, rusty cables were the main issue!
Members of our church group were invited to a cream tea and wander around the estate of a local Manor House, the grounds of the property are impressive, with delightful private and well-established gardens with mature wooded sections, formal lawns and a grass tennis court. The potting shed revealing some fascinating items of historical interest. The unique wooden fence post is just one of many items that the owner produces using locally grown oak in his recently added workshop/barn on the edge of the estate.
