River of Flowers

Monday: Minimalist Blip

Woke up feeling refreshed after a good night’s sleep - sun shining, love early mornings before it gets too hot.
Took advantage of the coolness to do an urgent job in the greenhouse: removed bottom leaves on the large tomato plants, mulched them with grass mowings then gave them a good watering with homemade “comfrey tea” added - should give them a boost :-))
Outdoor tomatoes were watered, the courgette was given same treatment as greenhouse tomatoes - I’ve made a big mistake this year and planted them in too much shade, thought it wise choice at the time but next year …!!
I was looking out of the upstairs window and so happy to see about 2 dozen seagulls gliding around above us and over the farmland across the main road, think I spotted a black-headed gull too and a similar number of swallows/house martins - it’s a shame that what used to be a common sight is now so rare :-((
I was so busy watching the birds soaring and gliding that I suddenly came to my senses and took a photo … almost too late …
Collected ripe seed of Hesperis matronalis which I’ll add to this year’s collection for the Cottage Garden Society Seed Swap, seed may have come from there to begin with!

Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
