Fiery Foliage
After populating the garden with natives and the such, I became interested in things with funky colours, foliage, fruits, etc. This is a "cut leaf" Sambucus (Elderberry) cultivar that produces vibrant lime green leaves. It also produces flowers, but they are very short-lived and never produce fruit. I think their shuffled genes to make such interesting leaves results in a less than robust reproductive capacity.
While hunting for garden blip I realized that the buds on the Sambucus cultivar were breaking. This particular bud reminded me of a campfire. Alos, not much was flowering today that I hadn't already captured...
