Spain, Day 8, Valle de Ordessa
Today was the big one. We set off from our rental very excited but a bit pensive about our days walk the Faja de Pelay. More information here but essentially a 700m straight out of the blocks climb up the sides of a near vertical valley and after 2 hours of climbing there followed a 10 mile "flattish" walk up to the head of the valley on top of the cliffs and then back down an easier path to the start/end
No cars are allowed into the National Park so buses ferry people up to a car park where people disperse off to their different walks.
It was unquestionably the toughest walk I have ever done but it was so worth it, the views were astounding, the sun shone (as forecast) all day and we finished 9 hours later with plenty of energy left. I'm not normally one for extras but there are a big pile below including the gorgeous waterfall the "Cola de Caballo" at the end of the valley and the view down to the car park after the climb
