Reflections at Roundhay
Yes Leeds. This is Roundhay Park, Leeds, where we went for a wander around this morning.
I admit it was further than I thought and I was quite surprised how big an area it covers, apparently one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, but it was very pleasant despite today’s heat as many of the paths were under the lovely, well established trees.
We made for the waterside cafe first and had coffee and cake and the set out to walk around Waterloo lake. Huge numbers of swan families, don’t think we’ve seen so many swans since we were in Sligo many years ago.
We spotted a Cormorant diving for the many fish in the lake. Every time I found it to zoom in and focus it dived under the water again. There were a number of damsel/dragonflies.
At the end of the spur of the lake I saw these swans balancing on a fallen tree grooming themselves. Loved the reflections so made this my blip even though I know it could be anywhere.
Walked back up to the top of the park and back to the car. We didn’t make it across the road to the specialist gardens which I had hoped to see but we can always visit again.
Headed home via Owlcoats (M&S) to do some shopping for the family coming at the weekend on their way back from Scotland. Yesterday Eda wanted to go up Stac Pollaidh and she did! Extra
