Same place, 12 years apart

Today #3 daughter was 45 and for her birthday we all went to Castiglione del Lago where she and Luke were married 12 years ago.

Ella and Nathaniel were so excited about it all. First we went into the town hall, with its frescos from floor to ceiling and all over the ceiling, where the ceremony took place. The mayor had presided wearing his regalia. Then they walked down the path to the olive grove where we’d had Prosecco. This time the children had gathered some olive leaves to throw instead of the rose petals the wedding guests had. The tower behind was where they had photos taken overlooking Lake Trasimino. Daughter found that quite scary.

Then Mr C took us all for lunch in a restaurant overlooking Lake Trasimino. It was delicious but took 2.5 hours as some of the family had several courses. The children were happy with large pizzas.

Tonight Luke is providing champagne.
