Leaping lads

While Mr C went to Whitley Bay to pick up the boys, I researched some routes in Germany for our September trip.

I made them some lunch - the current choice for both is bread, ham, cucumber and iceberg lettuce. No mayo, hummus or butter, just dry, with raw carrot and tomato on the side, followed by some fresh pineapple.

Then we went to Cragside. First it was a salted caramel and fudge ice cream. They were so polite to the young man serving he added an extra scoop accompanied with a wink. £12.80 for us all. A day out for families must be so expensive. (We gave Ella and Nathaniel €20 for their holiday - he’s spent all his holiday money already on a Real Madrid football shirt).

Gone are the days of the adventure playground. Now it’s straight to the Trim Trail. They had a go at missing out 2 bars while swinging along the monkey bars and by the time they came off that James had blisters. He’s going to bring cycling gloves next time. As he hung on a monkey bar before starting he crossed himself first - I asked why and was told Messi does it for luck. I’d better not send the video to his Protestant UDP Brexity Belfast grandad. They timed themselves on various bits of the trail and James encouraged younger children. On the way back they wanted me to use the bounce on Live on my phone so we got some fun ones to send home to the parents..

They are chilling with an orange juice ice lolly I made earlier - it got quite warm today and it’s actually sunny.

Chris loaned us her Blaeplucker so Mr C will take them to get some blueberries in the wood and we’ll make some pancakes.

Thank you for your kind comments about my culinary efforts - but tonight it is Cragside Cracker sausages and beans.
