Melting - I'm a hot dog!!!

OMG hasn't it been hot today? Ann made me get up at 6.45am today. When she came into the kitchen (where I sleep at night) I was just lying in my bed in subdued mode, looking at two little splodges of sick?!! I'd obviously been sick in the night but just leaned out of my bed to be sick.

That made Ann a bit worried. She was going to take me to Braidburn Valley Park for an hours run about, but decided just to take me to the nearer Morningside Park instead. That's not so exciting as I only get about 5 mins off my lead. I was absolutely fine. I ran about in my normal happy bouncy way. Yay! Though I didn't eat my breakfast this morning, but that's not unusual.

Ann went to 'Nifty 50s' class, swam half a mile and then went to the supermarket and I was happily snoozing in my bed when she came home. It was soooooo hot by then that she thought the pavements might be too hot for my paws so I just got taken onto the grass, behind our flats where it is is nice and shady, for toileting purposes.

This afternoon she popped into town because she wanted to buy a new swimming costume (but nowhere had any, though after going to M&S, TKMax & Primark she gave up). Not a good move. It is really, really busy everywhere. After two years of lockdown the Edinburgh Festival is back in full force and there are people everywhere.

The buses are absolutely rammed full of people. In fact on one of the buses that Ann was on today; a really aggressive man was yelling at everyone who got on the bus saying, 'COVID is still with us. Keep away from me. Keep away'. Seriously?! If he's that paranoid about getting COVID why is he even on a bus???? #justsaying Having said that; it will be really interesting to see if the Edinburgh COVID numbers go up dramatically in the next few weeks.

At about 4pm it was still mega hot so I got taken up Blackford Hill in the car because Ann thought there would be a nice cool breeze up there. There was a breeze but it was a mega hot one. I found a manky old ball as soon as I got out of the car. It was too hot for me and Ann felt really guilty for making me go out. Every few mins I just flopped down and had a little roll around on my back or just had a little chillax in the long grass. Fortunately after about 20 mins Ann realised I wasn't enjoying myself so we came home.

…..............And that's been our day. I've gobbled up my dinner and am chillaxing on the balcony now, whilst guarding my newly found manky old ball.

PS – Apparently it's going to be even hotter tomorrow??!!
