Purple Fur Ball
Thanks for all of your supportive comments yesterday about my upcoming heart procedures. Now, is anyone available to drive me? :-)
It rained last night, probably with some wind involved. That explains the Texas Rangers all around town having purple rings around their bases. It’s a routine happenstance this time of year. These “barometer bushes” look like giant purple fur balls after the monsoon gets really revved up. They’re stunning. Some wind and rain will pass through and blow varying amounts of flowers to the ground. Barring any storms, within 24 hours, they’re back to fur ball status.
In other news…I dropped off a box at the UPS store, stopped by the post office, had a bite of lunch, picked up my mail and am going to take neighbor on the right to get some groceries (her clunker finally died). Then, kick my feet up. Maybe take a nap. I’ve been sleeping late and running out of gas early.

A Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic priest met at the town’s annual Fourth of July picnic. Old friends, they began their usual banter.
“This baked ham is really delicious,“ the priest teased the rabbi. “You really ought to try it. I know it’s against your religion, but I can’t understand why such a wonderful food should be forbidden! You haven’t lived until you’ve tried Mrs. Hall’s prized Virginia baked ham! Tell me, rabbi, when are you going to break down and try it?“
The rabbi looked at the priest with a big grin, and said, “at your wedding.“
