The River Bourne riverbed with no water!

Today we visited the village where our son lives and in a brief walk we saw that there is no water in the river… usually at least a foot deep with various mallards etc swimming. This is the view from the road bridge. It has now been dry for weeks and is in Hampshire where there is already a hosepipe ban.

We saw lots of wheat fields being harvested and lots of parched fields … no grass for the cows in them. Even the ‘pick your own’ had no notices up so maybe all their fruit is finished?
