Here there and everywhere

Morning View, Blanes

This is the view from our balcony in the early morning.  Well,  7.15am.  Early enough when on holiday.  Am back blipping by a day.  The heat got to us a bit and so we hardly went anywhere or did anything.  Breakfast and then our usual 2nd coffee on the tall comfy  chairs in the hotel just off the breakfast room and we both did a couple of hours work from there   Laptops now back in the hotel safe!  The work for Bb was to keep things moving for a project happening after our hols. I did some Aptis,  minimum monthly hours done and dusted now and a few emails, including one to my  friend N,  which has been hanging over me.  It was to apologise for not being able to go to his wedding in the north of Scotland.  It was proving difficult logistically with many connections and with the risk of flights being cancelled and I'd have had to stay for a week all in,  at a time when I need to be working on my next course,  which will be a f2f one - my first f2f one since the start of you know what.  Luckily,  he understood.

We spent the best part of the afternoon playing Yatzee on a shaded terrace of The Shack,  a British-owned place it turns out,  after some delicious stuffed potato skins -  stuffed with chili,  guacamole and sour cream.  Siesta, a wee read and then time for dinner.  I think we'll need to reduce our intake and increase our steps after this holiday!

We love the whole people-watching element in the hotel restaurant both at breakfast and dinner.  Who loads up their plate at breakfast,  the early breakfasters,  the ones rushing in at the last minute,  and at dinner,  which is table service, with a menu which changes every day,  we like to try and some some dishes go past before we make our choices. We've noticed the different styles of the head waiters and the way they treat staff and guests too.  The one tonight was a bit of a control freak!
