Heart warming
We received this card from M this morning, thanking us for the map throw that I made him for his birthday recently. He went into detail to say how much he liked it and all the details that it shared with him. 14 year old boys are not known for their chat, but he excelled himself here.
I had a lump in my throat and was a bit sniffy as I read it. He has had a really difficult time attending school these past few months and struggled. He has worked at home, is now way ahead of the scheduling and is a bright boy in most subjects.
His efforts have been recognised by school and he received this trophy at the end of term (in extras). He has been a fighter all of his life. The first time that I saw him was in the special care unit at the Rosie Maternity Unit when he was a few weeks old on CPAP. He was home before Christmas that year in time to dress up for the celebrations.
It has been another very hot day, but I’m beginning to establish a routine that enables me to get things done. I’ve won on all the tasks that I tackled today, except for ordering my repeat cardiac medicines. The NHS app that I use on my phone said that I need to be reviewed by a clinician. No tablets in the meantime. I rang the surgery and spoke to a receptionist (a new one …….the turnover is horrendous) who said to put a message on the app and they will then decide what will happen next. It beggars belief!!! Watch this space !!!
