BAT RAY POOL

We're back at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California. The sheer number of exhibits here is astounding and LOTS of them are hands on for anyone, really, but especially for the kids.

In this shallow pool are lots of bat rays.....not dangerous and all are encouraged to reach in when one swims past and touch it. Most visitors are surprised to find that they are not slimy like fish but feel very rough...like sand paper.
