KING OF THE BAGGERS

It's Motorhead Sunday.  As part of the Moto America cycle tour at Road America, there's a race series strictly for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.  It's called King of the Baggers, which gets its name from the big cycles' saddle bags.

These big bikes are designed for road use and long trips and one hardly sees them as prototypical racing machines....but some stalwart riders saw the need to showcase the brand's ability to do "other" things than provide a comfortable ride on the highway.

They'll never reach the speeds or agility of Superbikes like Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, etc. but they can get it done in head-to-head competition with each other.  Here's proof positive that these behemoths can behave like a superbike with the right rider on them negotiating the vaunted Carousel on the revered asphalt of Road America, America's National Park of Speed.  Yes, Martha, they really do race H-D baggers.
