Saturday Stroll

Started with a quick trip to the farmers' market at Castle Terrace for cheese sourdough bread. 

Longer walk later, with the group organised by AndrewDBurns . Out by the canal all the way to the Bypass; main image taken from the aqueduct carrying the canal over the roadways, looking towards the Bridges. Lunch stop by the loch next to the Grid building on the Heriot Watt campus, there was an unusually pushy swan (extra) which didn't actually nip any of us, but reacted negatively to a walking pole with a rear and a throaty threat noise. A two year old which hasn't moved on, though it's parents have well grown cygnets from this year. Another blip of the same swan ..

Wandered on through deeply wooded trails on the campus, coming out past a wheat field being combined, and arriving at the Riccarton Inn which has outdoor tables and good beer. We drank a lot of water with the beer.  No 44 bus back to town. 

A great outing with a good group of people; some of the same people and some different people as on the last two of these walks.
