Let’s go outside…

I have been outside for almost all of the day.

From around 10am, when I sat outside with a brew reading Outdoor Photography magazine, to midday when, in the company of LadyV, we floated around the Heysham shoreline on our paddle boards as we slowly cooked in the sun.

Hunger eventually got the better of me, so as the tide beat a hasty retreat we packed up and ambled along to the end of the prom to the Mad Hatters cafe for cakes and cokes, which we summarily demolished as we looked out across the bay to the hills beyond.

Depositing the car, we then headed the other way along the prom for ice cream and drinks at The Midland, where we had a temporary respite from the heat and were joined by a friend of LadyV’s who shot the breeze with us for a while.

We ambled back along the prom stopping for snacks and to collect LadyV’s barbecue before we headed back to the beach to cook our dinner as the sunset across the bay.

A perfectly marvellous day.
