Copenhagen: Det Kongelige Biblioteks Have
This blipper crowd-sourced photograph of Det Kongelige Biblioteks Have represents Copenhagen in our 'photo album' of places that Lorna mentions in her Diary of the war. Read Lorna's reference to the city in her diary entry of 9th April 1940 and/or listen to Lorna's great-great niece actor Bethany Ray narrate Lorna's words in Episode 5 of our podcast series of the Diary of the war.
This is the third picture that LauraMuir kindly took from her personal photo archive and sent us at h.hall@napier.ac.uk. Previously we have blipped shots by Laura of Rome and the Vatican. Thank you for all your support Laura!
We're keen to hear from other blippers who are willing to share their own photographs (not previously blipped) of the many places worldwide that Lorna wrote about from her home in Malvern between 1939 and 1941. We seek pictures from locations in:
Europe - Albania, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and Sweden, plus many UK towns and cities
the Middle East - Egypt, Iraq, Libya
North America - Canada and the US
South America - Argentina and Uruguay
Africa - Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal
Russia
For the full list of places please see our blip of 1st August 2022, and/or our interactive map. We'd love your help with this (rather unusual) blip challenge. If you are able to join in, please let Hazel know by emailing her at h.hall@napier.ac.uk. Thank you!
