Japanese anemone
Early this morning we did 90 minutes' work at our local wildlife area, removing more of the seedheads from the hogweed growing in the wildflower areas, to prevent them dispersing their seeds there. Then we retreated indoors, in the relative cool, for most of the day.
This evening, shortly before 9pm, we went for a short, local, walk as dusk was falling, which was a good end to the day.
I know it's late summer when the Japanese anemones (Anemone hupehensis) come into flower. They have spread themselves around the garden and seem to have coped remarkably well with this summer's dry conditions.
