More out & about

Ali and his brother took us out for breakfast in the hills behind Gure. It was an incredible spread for our family and theirs. We were a group of 15 (maybe more - it’s a bit hazy) so meze style breakfast for that many is quite impressive.

Back and around and about, mainly in the water. I so love this sea. The photo of the pool side is just for a memory’s sake, as it was hardly ever this empty.

Our group - the family plus Ali and Anil has been joined yesterday by a couple of other Turkish friends of Ali. Their English isn’t great and our Turkish is pretty non-existent and they are, I think, from a pretty powerful/influential/privileged position in Istanbul … so … a bit difficult. But Elbows is making a great diplomatic effort.
