Gardenview Scarlet

Today's the day ......................... for wackiness

You have to smile at the sheer craziness of this flower which grows beside the new pond in the garden.

It's posh name is Monarda didyma 'Gardenview Scarlet' - but you might know it as beebalm or bergamot - although it is not to be confused with Bergamot orange which is used to flavour Earl Grey tea. It's native to North America and has a long history of use as a medicinal plant.  

Will painted it once here and I said to him that no-one would believe that it actually looks like that?!  But, as you can see here - it does ………………
