The View
This is the view of Barcelona towards the sea from Park Güell. Park Güell was designed by Gaudi to be a sort of housing development or gated community of 50 or 60 houses that integrated art and nature into a controlled community. However, due to disinterest from the population of Barcelona, the project failed. There are some buildings that are private homes and one large building that is a school, but it is primarily now a public park. The park is ornately landscaped and terraced with large mosaics throughout the entire thing. A trip to the park was the only tourist outing we did today because we had a late morning, did laundry, had a big breakfast, and mostly chilled out for the day after our tiring week of being a tourist. We went out to a tapas restaurant right around the corner of the apartment for one last dinner with our friends, and now we're packing up to get ready to fly to Prague in the morning. It's bittersweet to leave our friends in Barcelona, but we are looking forward to new adventures and seeing our families in Prague tomorrow!
