Carpet

It made a change to have an overcast day with a few sprinklings of rain. The forecast thunderstorms seemed to pass to the north though; we could see lightning flashes but heard no thunder.

Earlier, I walked out along Moorside and back through the pastures. The lack of sunshine kept the butterfly numbers down, but I still saw one or two: Wall, Speckled Wood, Red Admiral, Holly Blue, Small Heath & Gatekeeper. And this Common Carpet moth that fluttered up from the bracken.
