Water sports

We had some rain last night but it still felt pretty warm today. As it was forecast to be drier in the morning we decided to go for a walk around Draycote Reservoir. When we arrived it was drizzling but this didn’t those youngsters out for a sailing class this morning. The drizzle eased off as we continued our walk but a welcome relief from the recent heat.

We saw cormorants, White egret, great crested grebes and various duck and geese. The reservoir was low but didn’t appear dramatically low.

We returned back to my sisters for lunch. The anticipated rain didn’t materialise so we took a quick walk to the nearby shops which included an Asian grocery store where l stocked up on various spices. We also bought an interesting vegetable there to go with tonight’s meal. Should be good.
