Wild? Swimming

Wild Swimming is to all intents and purposes, going swimming outside in a natural pool of water. That pool might be at a bend in a river, or it might be the sea. Before everything needed a label, when I was a youngster, we just went swimming, be it in the sea, the Thames, the Wey or the canal, we swam for the pleasure of it. “Hands To Bathe” in the Royal Navy wasn’t called Wild Swimming but it could definitely lay claim to be, the ship would come to rest, propulsion machinery shut down and we jumped over the side to swim. Often the nearest point of land would be directly beneath us.
Anyway after another hot and humid day we decided to take Paddy to Maenporth Beach for a swim, we all four went in, and very cool, very relaxing it was as well.
Getting set for the week ahead.
