Bath Soft Cheese Farm

Since I first met John (s i l) he has brought me Bath soft cheese and Bath Oliver’s at Christmas, it’s a bit Camembert - ish - starts off mild and becomes very strong if left. 
More recently I’ve discovered Wyfe of Bath a hard cheese with a slightly smokey flavour. There is also Bath Soft Blue but I haven’t tried that yet.

This morning we went to where they make all the cheeses,  across Bath in Kelston. A lovely spot with a cafe and shop and a small children's play area. We met a friend of Grace’s there from Bristol with her 9 month old baby, Olive.

As well as the cafe you can go into the buildings shown top right to see where the cows are milked. They were just being let out from the milking parlour but there was another viewing window where we could see 8 calves, great for the children. There is also a cheese making viewing area so it’s an interesting place to visit. 

We had a coffee and then lunch. I had a Wyfe of Bath toastie with fig and onion chutney and salad, it was delicious.

After lunch I bought the girls locally made ice pops and treat myself to some Wyfe of Bath cheese. They had a few nice plants. Grace got a variegated Sedum and I rather regretted not getting one, contemplating going back tomorriw!

Late afternoon Chris arrived. Quite a heavy traffic build up as he got further down the M5 and long queues on the M4 approaching from London, thankfully in the opposite direction to him no doubt heading to the West Country.

Later, when daddy was home, Eda treat us to a ballet show of her own making. She actually did it 4 times and Jude joined in with enthusiasm. It was a wonderful finale to another lovely day.


The dresses are again interesting both bought at Easter, Eda)s is already a bit short and Jude is wearing hers for the first time. 18-24 months size and still a bit too big!
