Grasshopper

We were back at the lodge with the borrowed campervan again today to continue working on the garden. We think that by 10 am it's reasonable to work outside so we hired a scarifier and arrived just after 10. 

While we were having lunch in the camper I realised there was a text message from the visitors informing us that they had gone home today. We could have been inside using the kitchen and bathroom this morning!

The scarifier scratched at the grass, pulling out loose bits and moss. Another 10 bags of grass collected. Our next job will be planting wildflowers and sowing some seeds.  We should really have removed all the grass to give the flowers a good chance but its looking bare in places so hopefully they can survive.

With the grass shorter, I was able to get a better shot of the grasshopper today.
