Blue Frosted Banner
Another butterfly kind of a day, and I loved it. We had some new pupae arrive today and 3 of them are sparkly like a Christmas bauble. Nobody knows what species they are so we are all going to keep a close eye on them to see if we can identify what they are.
Today's blip is the Blue Frosted Banner from central/south America - a quite dull little brown butterfly with wings closed, but when it opens up, it's quite spectacular - well, the male is anyway. The female is quite different with no orange at all
Another successful day at the Butterfly House with nearly 200 visitors and some good donations...and I was home in time to watch the gymnastics. Happy days
